In this project we'll be planting trees and shrubs along a new multi-use path near Aldersbrook. The site is accessible from Attawandaron Road at Aldersbrook (first traffic light south of Fanshawe). Take the LTC (routes 9A-9B-9C) or park along Aldersbrook. (map)

Fox Hollow Ravine

This project is also a naturalization project with trees and shrubs along a new trail, in the same neighbourhood. Take the LTC (routes 9A-9B-9C) or park along Aldersbrook and look for signs. (map)

Both projects are part of our 10,000 Trees for the Medway program, and are sponsored by the Urban League of London through a bequest from the estate of Beryl Ivey.

A Full Spring

Spring is really here, and it is truly spectacular to see the trees come into leaf, seemingly overnight.

This spring sees us busier than ever before, planting with London Life this weekend, at 8 schools, 5 parks, throughout the Glen Cairn neighbourhood, in several neighbourhood projects, and in two major downtown projects.

Amazing Tree Quest and New Website

We're nearly ready to accept your nominations to London's Amazing Tree Quest. Help us discover the best trees in London in ten categories. Start snapping your photos -- ReForest London newsletter subscribers will get the first chance to nominate their favourite London trees.

We invite you to the launch of this contest on Wednesday, May 13 at 10am at the Saturn Park in Gibbons Park (Grosvenor St. parking lot). more info about the contest

With the launch of the Amazing Tree Quest will come a new website for ReForest London, with new features, more interactivity, and new information. Many thanks to rtraction for designing and building the site, Bottree Digital Services for guiding us through the process, and Robbie Luzius-Vanin for converting the content.  All of these companies and individuals have donated countless hours to this project, and we appreciate it!

 Neighbourhood Re-Leaf: Glen Cairn

Our project in the Glen Cairn Neighbourhood continues this spring. This project will see the planting of 1,000 trees in the Glen Cairn neighbourhood. This spring, we are planting trees at 4 Glen Cairn schools - CC Carrothers, St. Sebastian, Princess Elizabeth and Glen Cairn. On June 6, we'll hold a tree sale at the Tim Hortons on the corner of Commissioners and Adelaide.

Last fall, we planted trees in yards throughout Glen Cairn with the help of the amazing youth at the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre. We also planted trees at Thompson Road Park and Naiomi Almeida Park.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (through a grant with the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre) for sponsoring this program.
