21 Amazing Trees Chosen as Winners

Twenty-one trees were named London’s most amazing trees at a gala luncheon at Museum London today. Celebrate the Trees was the culmination of ReForest London’s Amazing Tree Quest contest, which began in the spring.

The contest invited Londoners to submit their favourite trees in 10 categories. All nominations were posted online instantly, and people voted for their favourite trees. In August, a team of tree experts and community leaders, including Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco-Best, Chamber of Commerce CEO Gerry Macartney, and Ontario Attorney General Chris Bentley, chose the winning trees.
A full list of first and second place winners along with links to the entries can be found here

In addition to the Amazing Tree Quest award ceremony, Celebrate the Trees featured a State of the Forest Report from Ivan Listar, London’s Urban Forester, a poem by Penn Kemp, and tree-themed art from the Museum London collection.
