Celebrated every April 22, Earth Day is the largest, most celebrated environmental event worldwide. More than 6 million Canadians join 500 million people in over 180 countries in staging events and projects to address local environmental issues.

There's a lot going on in London this weekend to celebrate Earth Day. Come on out and enjoy the spring!

Plants some trees with your MP and MPP's!

Riverforks Park
Saturday, April 22, 1-4 pm
a project by the Riverforks Neighbourhood Association
London area MPP's Deb Matthews, Khalil Ramal and Chris Bentley will be there with shovels in hand to help celebrate Earth Day and to launch ReForest London's second year.

University Hospital UWO entrance at Windemere and Perth Drive
Saturday, April 22, 11am-3pm
Join the Canadian Liver Foundation to plant native trees at the gates of UWO. MP Irene Mathyssen will be participating with volunteers to plant trees at this event.

Clean and Green and Thames River Clean Up

Two other great opportunities to get involved in your neighbourhood on Earth Day: 

London's Clean and Green has local events to pick up litter and remove graffiti, along with our tree planting events. more info

The Thames River Clean Up is also taking place on April 22. Volunteers will be cleaning up many areas along the Thames River. more info

Sunoco Earth Day, April 23

For a great time tree planting, learning about caterpillars and raptors, and participating in many other family friendly activities, head out to Westminster Ponds on Sunday, April 23 from 11am-3pm for Earth Day celebrations.

David Suzuki visits London, April 30

David Suzuki will be in London to talk about his new book, David Suzuki: The Autobiography.
Tickets on sale for this April 30 event at The Book Store at Western, Books Plus and the Grand Theatre Box Office.

The event is sponsored by The Book Store at Western, The Arcangelo Rea Family Foundation and the Urban League of London.
