Give a Gift that Keeps on Living
|
|
This year, consider a gift that improves your community and the environment. ReForest London will plant a tree right here in London for the special people on your list. Giving a tree is easy – online or at four retail locations during November and December.
Pictured at t left is one of the one of the unique, hand-made leaf ornaments created by London artist Lauar Goffin. You can buy an ornament and ReForest London will plant a tree for you. Also on sale are sets of notecards made of vibrant batik images from London artist Julie Picken-Cooper.
You can buy a gift and a tree at these retail locations:
- Thursday, November 26, 11:00am-1:30pm, Talbot Centre, 148 Fullarton Street
- Friday, November 27, 11:00am-1:30pm, Talbot Centre, 148 Fullarton Street
- Saturday, November 28, Covent Garden Market, 130 King Street
- Friday, December 18, 11:30-1:30pm, One London Place, 255 Queens Ave
ReForest London will plant a tree in the name of the gift recipient during one of our spring or fall tree planting events. If you sign up for our email list, you will be informed of our tree planting events, and if you wish, you can come to plant the tree yourself!

| Woodland Protection back in Court |
|
Thursday, November 26, 10am, Courthouse, 80 Dundas St.
Last year the City of London and a the London Woodland Coalition (comprised of number of organziations including ReForest London) successfully defended the City's change in criteria making it easier to protect London's remaining woodlands. The change in criteria had been challenged by a number of companies but was upheld by the OMB. Now that ruling is being challenged by the same group of companies.
Sandy Levin, former City Councillor, hired a lawyer to assist the City lawyers in defending the changes. The London Woodland Coalition assisted in this through financial support. You can help by attending the hearing or making a donation.
