 Two Planting Events this fall

Join ReForest London as we plant more than 1,000 trees and shrubs this fall at two locations. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. If you've never planted a tree before, we'll show you how! Please come prepared with sturdy, close-toed shoes, a shovel (if you have one), and gardening gloves. During the event, you will be planting trees and shrubs, adding compost and mulch.

Help us advertise by posting this sign where you shop, work, worship, and play. PDF 8.5 x 11" flyer

Sunday, October 26, 1-4pm
Elsie Perrin Williams Estate
101 Windemere Road East (map)
Join us as we plant 650 native trees and shrubs in this natural area near the Medway Creek. This project is a continuation of our 10,000 Trees for the Medway program, in which we have already planted more than 3,500 trees. There is limited parking, so please carpool if possible. Follow the signs and coloured flags to the planting area, located 500 metres from parking.

This project is sponsored by an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources/Evergreen Community Tree Planting grant, donations made in memory of Dick Markvoort, and the New St. James Presbyterian Church in celebration of their 175th anniversary.

Saturday, November 1, 10am-1pm
Thompson Road Park
corner of Thompon Road and Pond Mills Road (map)
Please join ReForest London and the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre as we plant 400 native trees and 150 native shrubs at the Thompson Road Park. We'll be improving the buffer along the Thames River, thereby improving water quality, air quality, species diversity, and wildlife habitat of this London jewel. Please walk, take London Transit route 1A, or park at the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre, 150 King Edward, and walk 3 blocks to the park.

This project is sponsored by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources/Evergreen Community Tree Planting grant, and individual donors.

Vote for the Environment

ReForest London encourages you to learn about the environmental policies proposed by each of the parties

The Tomorrow Today group of 11 of Canada's largest environmental organizations put six questions to the leaders of the five main political parties in Canada's 2008 federal election.

They asked leaders about climate change, wild spaces, water issues, renewable energy and their personal commitment to solving the global warming crisis.

See the video responses from party leaders at this website.
