 Communities in Bloom Volunteer Opportunity

A ribbon cutting at the Carfrae Green Gateway project this spring. This project is one of several ReForest London project to be visited by Communities in Bloom.

Three ReForest London projects will be featured in the Communities in Bloom tour beginning next week.

Judges will visit the Carfrae Green Gateway in Old South, Tecumseh School, and Old East. ReForest London was a partner in these three locations.

Your help is needed at a spruce-up of the Carfrae Green Gateway project. On Saturday, August 9 from 10am-noon, we will be weeding, cutting back the weed trees and adding mulch. Please bring gloves, pruners, and a garden trowel for weeding. Location: Carfrae Street at Carfrae Crescent, just south of the Thames River.

Spring Season Successes

This spring we planted more than 1,300 trees and 700 shrubs with the help of 2,000 volunteers!

Our projects included 7 schools, 7 neighbourhood groups, a business improvement organization, and a corporate-sponsored event.

Thanks for a great season London!

Two tree planting volunteers pause for some fun at Ealing Public School this spring.

Urban League awards Green Umbrella to ReForest London
The Urban League of London has presented ReForest London with its Green Umbrella Award. The umbrella symbolizes the role of the Urban League as an umbrella organization for a wide variety of citizen groups concerned with social changes and community development. The green colour of the umbrella remindes us of the importance of green open spaces in effective urban planning and of London's reputation as the Forest City. We're proud to receive this award from such a strong organization.
ReForest London does not solicit door-to-door

.

There has been at least one report of a door to door canvasser seeking donations for ReForest London. This scam also has claimed to be raising funds for EnviroWestern.

If you have  recently been visited, and the fraudulent canvassers are still in the area, call 9-1-1 immediately, inform them that you have been defrauded, and request that they send someone to look for the people going door-to-door. If they are no longer in the area, you may contact London Police at their non-emergency line, 519-661-5670, and push '3' to file a fraud report. Please also contact ReForest London at 519-936-9548
