Everyone has the names Barack Obama, John McCain, Joe Biden, and Sarah Palin on their minds. These times are scary, exciting, and most of all historical that we are in the midst of.
I feel whatever your political preference, at least take the time to register and vote. No man is weaker than the man who complains, yet does not do his part for change.
Personally I’m glad November 4th is on the near horizon so we can get back to some sense of normalcy. I don’t even watch the news anymore because it’s all gotten too negative for my taste between the War, the Low Economy, Natural Disaster’s and the Political Mudslinging.
A new day has come for a better tomorrow. Please register and vote.
Stand up and be counted,

Gilda’s Club

Damone Roberts New York hosted a very special night for “Gilda’s Club” last month. Gilda’s Club is an organization that supports those living with Cancer, and their loved one’s…named after the late comedian Gilda Radner.
It was a special evening for all of us as we laughed, loved and cried all in the name of beauty.
I want to personally thank Marilyn Brown, Armond Hambrick, and Minna Murphy for dedicating their time and talents. I also want to send a special Thank you to “Caboodles” for the wonderful Make-up Kits donated for the guest.
This night really meant a lot to me as it rang loud and clear that no matter what the circumstance, with support the ride is always smoother. |

Diva's Corner - Minna

As my 41st birthday approaches, I find myself reflecting on events in the past that have shaped my life. With all the changes that I have experienced (i.e. buying my first home, my mother’s death from AIDS, divorcing my second husband, and my eldest daughter starting college) there is one thing that stands out in my mind, and that is to trust myself.
If I’m honest with myself – there are numerous occasions where a decision had to be made and I had a gut feeling about what to do and I didn’t follow through.
It took me years to realize that the inner knowing I was experiencing was the answer to my prayers for guidance. Whenever I didn’t listen to the warnings or admonitions of that inner voice the results were not to my advantage. So why didn’t I listen, why didn’t I trust my instincts? FEAR!
Fear of not understanding why I was feeling the way I felt. Fear of not wanting to hurt or disappoint someone else by my opposing decisions. It’s fear that caused me to settle for less than I deserved! Now I know and understand that my intuition is the way of the universe communicating with me.
So my resolution for the next decade of my life is to trust my instincts, accept nothing but the best, and to no longer settle for less!
