I wanted the February Newsletter to be not only about Valentines Day, but also about LOVE. The love of Family, Lovers, Friends and Life. True blessings all start with Love. I am thankful to have Love all around me with my higher power, husband, family, friends, fans, godchildren, and now my 1st nephew who was born only a few days ago.

Anyone who knows me will tell you I absolutely adore children. I love the way they see people for their true character, and not anything exterior. They don’t care if you’re a different religion, race, sexuality, or if you live on a different side of the tracks. They care about the sincerity of your character.

I believe you can learn so much from children, and whenever I am around them I am a sponge taking it all in. I recently had the opportunity to participate in a new website for the Tween set called Fortune Girls.

Fortune Girls was created by 12-year-old Madison Ruiz. The brand seeks to encourage Tweens to follow their dreams, build self-esteem and be socially conscious. The web site creates lifelong recipes for growth, personal success and inspiration to make the world a better place.

Every February across the country, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St.Valentine.

The story as I know it is St. Valentine was a priest who served during the 3rd century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he banned marriage for young men. With this action he hoped to have better soldiers. When Valentine found what Emperor Claudius was doing, he madly disagreed and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. Claudius discovered Valentines actions & ordered that he be put to death.

Poor Valentine…

I am very proud to say that I found my Valentine and we have been married a little over 3 months. Marriage is a wonderful feeling but LOVE is not a feeling. It is destiny. I believe everyone has their soul mate. Certain paths take you where you belong. In love, in care and in protection.
